4-5 Year

4 - 5 Year Nutrition Development

A full-fledged child develops well and feels good. Proper and healthy nutrition is also important for your child's mental health.

At this age, your child can eat whatever you eat. You can see that he/she often eats healthy food. With some simple rules, you can provide them with healthy food and healthy eating habits.

Provide them with a variety of food. Feeding only one type and a limited variety of foods prevents adequate intake of nutrients and vitamins. Provide your children and adults with fresh vegetables, fruits, milk and dairy products (cheese, yogurt), whole grains, beans, meat and eggs for healthy nutrition.

Monitor your child's growth and development. If they show normal growth, don't say "you should finish your plate." Usually, children eat as much as possible. Support them to know when they are full. This is an important habit of a lifetime. Remember that their part should be smaller than the adult part. Eating as much as possible can cause too much food and become overweight. Obesity is an important danger for children today.

Be careful to eat with the whole family and have regular meals. During these hours, give your child some healthy snacks, such as fruit and yogurt, and prevent him from feeding his stomach with junk food. At dinner time, as an entire family gathered at the table, chatting while eating. Don't get into the habit of eating in front of the TV. For example, don't let them play games on a tablet while eating at the table. Healthy eating habits develop in these age groups.

Be careful not to eat ready-made food. This is an important habit for the entire family. Limit ready-to-eat foods and snacks. Develop a habit of eating healthy foods regularly at home. Pre-made juices and soft drinks contain a lot of sugar and calories. Prevent or reduce their consumption of these drinks. Water is the healthiest drink. Don't forget this. Don't forget the milk and Ayran.
